There’s social networking a la Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
Then there’s professional networking like LinkedIn.
But then there’s this uber exclusive Airbnb meets Private club meets what-have-you invite only travel, lifestyle community known as ‘A Small World’.
You can only join the network if you’re invited by a current member, or if your application is approved by a committee. And once you do join, membership is $100 annually.
In return you get access to interesting people wherever you travel to (at least that’s what they claim) and a digital interaction that is free of ads and data mining and what not.
It’s not for everyone, obviously. But I can see the use of something like this, especially if you’re the kind to travel a lot, and you put a premium on trust worthy networks.
And of course, you have to make a good bit of income to make this meaningful in any real way.
Still, it’s interesting. Check it out here.
